How to Settle Your LTO Contract Early
You do not need to wait until the last installment to own your digital asset. BitLease allows you to fully settle your LTO contract at any time during the repayment period. When you do, your remaining debt is paid in full, the asset transitions from Locked to Free, and formal on-chain ownership transfers to you immediately.
This article explains how Early Full Settlement works and how to initiate it from your account.
What is Early Full Settlement?
Early Full Settlement means paying the total remaining obligation on your contract before the scheduled end date. As stated in the Institutional Product Framework: "Users may repay remaining debt at any time. Ownership transfers instantly."
When you settle early, your asset moves from Locked status to Free status inside your LTO Wallet. At that point, you have several options: keep it in your LTO Wallet, transfer it to your Funding Wallet, or withdraw it entirely.
How to Initiate Early Full Settlement
There are two ways to reach the settlement flow.
From the Owning Page
Go to Owning in the top navigation bar.
Find the contract you want to settle.
Click Settle Now on the contract card.
The Pay Installments page opens. You can use the installment slider to select all remaining installments for a single payment.
Confirm that your LTO Wallet has sufficient balance, then click Confirm Payment.
From the Contract Details Page
Go to Owning and click Details on the contract card.
Review your contract information, including Obligation (remaining), Paid (to date), and your installment schedule.
Click Settle Now in the bottom action bar.
Follow the same payment flow described above

What Happens After Settlement
Once your payment is confirmed, the following occurs in sequence. Your remaining debt becomes zero. The asset transitions from Locked to Free inside your LTO Wallet. Formal on-chain ownership is transferred directly to you. The contract closes permanently.
On the Owning page, the contract moves from the Live tab to the Closed tab. It will display the OWNED badge, and the Journey Milestones bar will show 100.0%.
From this point, the asset is fully yours. You can transfer it to your Funding Wallet for withdrawal, or keep it in your LTO Wallet.
What You Need to Know
Payment source is your LTO Wallet. Make sure you have enough USDT (or other accepted stablecoins) in your LTO Wallet before initiating settlement. If your balance is insufficient, transfer funds from your Funding Wallet first.
You can also use the Locked asset's value to settle. If you prefer to pay using the asset itself rather than stablecoins, use the Buyout feature instead. See: Understanding Buyout and Economic Value Settlement (EVS).
No penalties apply to early settlement. Settling before the scheduled end is always available and carries no additional cost. The system calculates your remaining obligation at the time of settlement.
Early settlement does not negatively affect your Internal Credit Score. Completing your contract, whether early or on schedule, is a positive outcome.
