How to Complete Identity Verification Step by Step

This article walks through the Become Identified flow — the process that takes your account from Activated to Identified. The flow has three parts: your personal details, your security questions, and your recovery phrase.

Before You Begin

Set aside a few uninterrupted minutes. The recovery phrase step generates a 12-word phrase that you must store securely — this cannot be regenerated later, and BitLease cannot recover it for you if it is lost.

Step-by-Step: Personal Details

  1. From the Profile tab, tap the KYC Center card.

  2. Tap Start Verification.

  3. Enter your First Name and Last Name exactly as they appear on your government-issued identification.

  4. Enter your Date of Birth.

  5. Select your Nationality from the dropdown list.

  6. Review all fields for accuracy, then continue.

Important

Your personal details must match your identification documents precisely. Mismatches can delay or block your progress to higher verification levels later.

Step-by-Step: Security Questions

  1. After submitting your personal details, you are presented with three security questions.

  2. Choose answers that you will remember but that others could not easily guess.

  3. Confirm your answers and continue.

These questions support account recovery if you ever lose access to your usual sign-in method. Treat your answers with the same care as a password.

Step-by-Step: Recovery Phrase

  1. BitLease generates a unique 12-word recovery phrase.

  2. Write the phrase down in the exact order shown, or store it using a secure offline method.

  3. Confirm that you have saved the phrase by checking the confirmation box.

  4. Tap Continue to finish the verification flow.

Critical — Read Before Continuing

Your recovery phrase is the only way to recover access in certain account scenarios. Never share it with anyone, including anyone claiming to represent BitLease. Never store it as a screenshot on a device connected to the internet. Never enter it on any website other than the official BitLease platform. BitLease will never ask for your recovery phrase by email, chat, or social media.

After You Finish

Once the flow is complete, your account status updates to Identified. Return to the Profile tab to confirm the change, and check the KYC Center for your new daily limits.
